La Roche-Posay Serozinc

19:22

I remember first hearing about La Roche-Posay Serozinc a few years ago, (back when it had to be ordered online as it wasn't sold in England) but I never quite got a chance to try it then. So when I came across it in Boots a month ago, I couldn't have been happier and more excited to try a product. I picked this product up with the hope that it would have the power to fix my blemished skin as I had heard that's what it was predominantly good for.

Serozinc is a toner/face mist; on the website it states that it is 'specifically designed to target key signs of oily, blemish-prone skin'. The way in which it's used is pretty self-explanatory; you simply spray it over your face after having cleansed it, wait until it dries then continue with your skincare routine. Another way this can be used is on the body, to target blemished on your chest or back. With it being a spray, it makes reaching areas like your back easy.

What makes this product stand out from the rest is its simplistic use of ingredients; Serozinc contains only three ingredients all of which you can read.

○ La Roche-Posay's ultra-soothing thermal spring water (99.15%)
○ Healing zinc sulphate (0.10%)
○ Astringent sodium chloride (0.75%)
The most dominating ingredient in Serozinc is in fact water and then sodium chloride, which to people is just known as salt. So this product's two out of three ingredients are things we have at hand all the time. Zinc Sulphate works as a cosmetic astringent by inducing a tightening sensation of the skin; cosmetic biocide that helps to cleanse the skin by inhibiting the grown of microorganisms. This would explain as to why this product works well for blemish prone skin.

When I first used this product I didn't know what to expect because when I sprayed it, it simply felt like water. There isn't much of a smell to it, no fragrance or a medicated scent but after a few days I could tell a difference in the way my blemishes were, it didn't take them away completely, but it certainly was starting to work on them.
I like this product a lot, for its simplicity in ingredients and ease of application. When I apply this product I know I'm not putting an excessive amount of chemicals on my skin, my goal is to reduce the amount of products I use on my skin as I do believe good skin comes from fewer products that help it grown. The price is a love hate for me; I picked mine up from Boots and it retails at £8.50 which isn't a lot in comparison to other skin care products out there. Also, the longevity is disappointing; I have had mine for around four weeks now, and it will probably run out at any time.

You're probably wondering would I buy this again and yes I would, in fact, I have already purchased a backup.

If you want a simple product to use on your skin and you have blemished prone skin, then you should try this out.
